Abstract

Fireworks burn though constituting only a minor portion of overall burns is a problem that should be addressed seriously as they may create significant morbidity and mortality. The sale to the general public of fireworks is illegal in Nepal, yet they are easily and cheaply available without quality or safety control. Children as well as adults continue to sustain serious injuries as a result of this.Stricter enforcement of regulations, education and parental supervision are needed to prevent injuries from fireworks. We report four cases of fireworks burns.
